"Best Vocalist Of The Month" Contest
The SingerUniverse “Best Vocalist Of The Month" Competition honors and publicizes the top vocalists who submit their demos to SingerUniverse each month. This competition not only spotlights the winning singer, but also showcases the Top Five new vocalist recordings/demos that we hear each month. Many A&R label execs, producers, managers and booking agents check out the winning songs each month.
The winning vocalist will be interviewed for a very positive, feature article in our popular online magazine SingerUniverse. Dale Kawashima (prominent music exec & Head of SingerUniverse) will personally interview (via phone or email) the winning vocalist and write the article. The article will include a photo of the winner, streaming audio of the winning song, plus a link to the singer’s website and e-mail address. The winning vocalist (plus his or her photo) will be announced on the homepage of the SingerUniverse site. In addition, the four other finalist demos will be spotlighted on the homepage and the contest winner article page, with the names of the finalists, streaming audio of their songs, their photos, plus their website and e-mail links. Notably, both the winner and four other finalists will also receive prizes (please see below).
Each “Best Vocalist Of The Month” article will remain online indefinitely, so that the article can be read (and their songs heard) for many months to come. Our objective is to not only honor the winning vocalists when they first win, but to continually help expose and promote them via our website.
Important Note: The Top Five Vocalists each month will be reviewed by Dale Kawashima, Head of SingerUniverse and currently Executive Director at HoriPro Entertainment Group, which is an internationally-known talent agency and music publishing company (with offices in Los Angeles, Nashville and Tokyo). HoriPro publishes the song catalogs of KISS, REO Speedwagon, Marilyn Manson, Sophie B. Hawkins, the Byrds, Jerry Reed, plus many country hits. The Top Five Vocalists will be reviewed for consideration by HoriPro. Notably, three previous contest winners have signed music publishing contracts with HoriPro as a result of being discovered in the contest.

Entry Fee and Instructions
Vocalist demos in all genres of music will be accepted for this competition. You can submit an original song, or a recording of a hit or classic song. Each demo will be judged on its vocal performance, artistic merit, originality and uniqueness. Demos do not have to be elaborately produced, but they need to be presented in a professional manner, to attract the attention and respect of industry figures who will be listening.
